Coolsculpting® in Montpellier
Coolsculpting® is a method based on innovative technology developed by a team of scientists from the prestigious HARVARD University. Coolsculpting® uses a patented cooling process – cryolipolysis – to target and eliminate fat cells.
In the maze of new techniques that are popping up every day, Coolsculpting® stands out. Very well developed in the United States, it gives very good results and is therefore positioned as a a real alternative to invasive surgery , which can sometimes put off certain patients.
Integrated with our Montpellier Surgery Office this will allow Dr MEZIANE to better define the expected results based on patient expectations.
Explanation of how Coolsculpting® works
Coolsculpting® targets and cools fat cells at temperatures that trigger their apoptosis (cell destruction).
Coolsculpting step 1
The appearance of nerves or other tissues is unaffected because fat cell lipids crystallize at a higher temperature than water in other types of cells.
Coolsculpting step 2
Following treatment, fat cells enter an apoptotic death sequence and are progressively cleared by macrophages as part of the phagocytosis process within a few weeks and months following.
Coolsculpting step 3
The thickness of the fat layer is considerably reduced.

Coolsculpting® is a non-invasive procedure performed in the office.
For every bump an hour of processing is required. For example, to make love wrists on both sides two hours of treatment will be needed.
There is no anesthesia, no hospitalization, and no activity to plan.
When the procedure starts the vacuum pressure attracts the tissues in the applicator between the cooling panels. At first, sometimes, it can cause feelings of strong traction, pinching and tightness in the treated area. Some patients may also experience tingling, itching, pain, or contractions.
These sensations usually stop when the treated area becomes numb with the cold.
After treatment, the first results are usually visible after 3 to 4 weeks.
The results are good at 8 weeks and the final result is obtained at 3 months.
In some patients there is a 5-year follow-up during which the results are preserved, the destroyed fat mass does not reform, even if the patients regain weight.
Indication on Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis is for men and women with a very localized excess of fat, anxious to find a harmonious silhouette without the constraints of surgery. To lose weight without surgery, cryolipolysis is the ideal technique and an alternative to liposuction for:

- Love handles on the hips
- The buttocks and the breeches
- The inside of the thighs and arms
- The double-chin . May be associated with lipodissolution by Kybella ®.
Cryolipolysis is indicated for people wishing to lose 5 to 10 kg and who can not eliminate small bulges often unsightly, despite diets and physical exercise. Cryolipolysis is also very effective against cellulite . It can be associated with CELLFINA ™ anti-cellulite treatment for even more visible results!
